Take Courage - Don't Be Afraid!

"But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid." Matthew 14:27

What are you afraid of at this very moment in your life? Are you afraid of your marriage being dead, your future, of your financial security, of your health, and of course, the loneliness that you may already be facing? Are you afraid of what divorce may do to your children or are you afraid that your spouse will never return home? Do not allow the enemy to torment you with fear. May I encourage you to stand on the promises of God in the Bible.

"The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?" Psalm 118:6

Many times in each of our lives, we are going to face different types of crises, but Jesus wants us to look to Him and not be afraid of our future. He wants us to keep our eyes on Him and not on the storm. The Lord is saying, "I am with you, don't be afraid of your circumstances!"

We are hearing every day from standers around the world who are facing many trials and tribulations that range from separation, to standers facing possible cancer surgery, to teenager problems or your spouse marrying the other person. May you and I stand up for God's standards in marriage, the salvation of your spouse and for the courage to never give up on the Lord God who is able to defeat the enemy. What does courage mean? It means: fearlessness in the face of danger. So may you seek the Lord to face all your problems with fearlessness!

"Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong." I Corinthians 16:13

I can remember back seven years ago when I was returning home from a conference, a song started playing rewind in my heart and mind for four days. I sang the chorus over and over again. As I sang the chorus, the Lord gave me a great peace. I normally do not wake up to a song on my heart, but I have heard of many that have had it happen to them. I sang it as a worship song, but I also sang it as a song that was sung in battle for our oldest son who was facing a serious health crisis in his life. The Lord was telling me to not be afraid of our circumstances with Tim facing cancer surgery. The Lord knows what you are facing today. Allow Him to minister God's power of faith and courage to you.

Today, believe in the name and in the power of the Lord Jesus. There is victory in the Name of Jesus and satan will have to flee from you! Let me share the lyrics of this chorus, "In The Name Of Jesus," with the writer unknown.

What powerful words! I pray that this song will encourage you today. You need to call on that great Name to save you from all the enemies' fiery darts. Satan is defeated and may be trying to give you fear and anxiety due to many of your circumstances, but our Lord God is greater than any of your problems. Turn to the Lord and trust in His mighty power.

What are you facing today? The enemy wants to paint your picture of life as black as he can make it. The Lord is the one who has given you the sun, the moon and the stars making His earth beautiful for you to live in. Allow His light to shine on your life every day.

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

I pray that regardless of your marriage problems today, you will seek to hear from your Lord God daily. He wants a personal relationship with you. He wants to talk to you. He will direct your footsteps, take you by your hand and help you up the mountain you are trying to climb alone. Know for certain that God hears and answers prayers. Nothing is too hard for your Lord!

"Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, "Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you." Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped." Isaiah 35:3-5
