"The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever." Isaiah 40:8
Do you understand that God's Word will endure forever? God's promises will be fulfilled. Are you hungering and thirsting for the Word of God? Do you believe in the power in the Word of God? You need to seek the Lord daily, read His Word, then spend time crying out to the Lord in prayer as you listen for His special soft voice.
"Be careful to follow every command I am giving you today, so that you live and increase and may enter and possess the land that the Lord promised an oath to your forefathers. Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the desert these forty years, to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands." Deuteronomy 8:1-2
God tested and humbled His people for Him to know what was in their heart! He wanted to know whether or not they would keep His commands! Wow! What is in your heart? Would you fail the test?
"Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the LORD." Proverbs 23:17
Beware of the enemy's tricks! Satan is very sly and you may not be aware that it is the Enemy tempting you with depression, hopelessness, unbelief and lack of faith. That is why you need to have a personal quiet time with the Lord every day. Do you eat every day? Then hunger and thirst for the Word of God every day.
How many times have you been tempted to give up praying and standing for your marriage? How many times has the Lord given you manna, signs, a "rhema" word over and over again to give you hope and direction for marriage restoration? Many standers start strong, but due to circumstances that occur, due to financial pressures, due to employment issues, due to losing their home, due to family pressures, due to church pressures, due to the length of time waiting, due to no evidence of change of what their spouse is speaking or doing makes them, the standers give up on God's plan and purpose in your life.
The stander did not realize that God was working in their life to know what was in their heart. He humbled and tested them to find out if His children would keep His commands and believe in His Word. Where are you? If only you would believe, trust and wait on the Lord forever knowing God's Word will never fail.
"He humbled you causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord." Deuteronomy 8:3
God wants to teach His people that one's life does not consist merely in the physical, but depends on one's relationship to God and obedience to His Word. The Lord may permit difficulties in our lives as a form of fatherly discipline in order to train us to depend on Him more each day, having a personal relationship with Him, to speak, to claim and to know His Word.
"Your clothes did not wear out and your feet did not swell during these forty years. Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the Lord your God disciplines you." Deuteronomy 8:4-5
Can you see where your Lord God is providing for you supernaturally? Can you see and hear God's voice in showing you His will and His way for your life? Are you seeking Him each day? Are you reading, studying and obeying the Word of God daily? Have you become too busy to read the Word every day? Beware that is a trick from the enemy!
When the Lord blesses you with answers to your prayers, or when your spouse comes home--do not forget all that your Lord God has done for you and your family! Remember, the Lord wants to get the glory for all answers to your prayers and for your marriage being restored. You will need to read the Word and pray even more when your beloved husband or wife return home.
"When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the Lord your God for the good land he has given you. Be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees that I am giving you this day." Deuteronomy 8:10-11
Always remember Who gives you everything, provides for you spiritually, financially and emotionally. He will never leave you. Always put Him first in your life and remember His commandments.
"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:33
I pray that you will believe in God's Word regarding restoration for your marriage. I also pray that if the Lord has spoken to you, do not take it lightly. Consider it as if you were a Moses, a Samuel, a Jeremiah or a Saul/Paul. God does not speak and then change His mind, but wants you to believe in His Word and the power of God. If you have any doubt or fear, recognize who is giving it to you--the Enemy! So start reading God's Word daily and stand firm on God's promises!
"Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." I Corinthians 15:58
