Charlyne Cares is a daily reminder that God cares and that we care about your marriage. Each morning Charlyne sends a devotional and Bob does a Prodigal Perspective on Tuesdays. These come from someone who has experienced the tragedy of divorce and the triumph of a family restored by God speaking to Charlyne's heart not to give up on their marriage after she divorced Bob.
"I tell you the truth, the man who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of his sheep. The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice." John 10:1-4
Do you know your Lord Jesus Christ as Shepherd of your life? Are you listening to His voice? Jesus calls his sheep by name and leads them onto the right pathway. Please stay close to Him, so you will not be led on a detour road. He will help you to grow in the Lord and you will know His voice, as you hold His righteous right hand and follow Him. What a promise!
So many standers have had a special encounter with their Lord speaking words, phrases or sentences, giving instructions and promises to them, for their marriage and their future. May you never take this encounter lightly. God has spoken to you His plan and His will for your life and marriage. Now you must follow Jesus, your Shepherd and continue to listen to His voice and yes, you will learn to know the difference between the two voices, the Holy Spirit and the enemy, satan that are speaking to you every day.
"But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger's voice." Jesus used this figure of speech, but they did not understand what he was telling them. Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture." John 10:5-9
The most important decision you must make is that you will follow your Savior and Lord Jesus Christ forever. You must choose to be different. You need to grow in the Lord, in spite of your marriage circumstances. Have faith in your Lord God, believing in His mighty power and promises. The world and often our churches are giving up on marriages. Let us Christians seek the Lord, praying fervently knowing and believing in His mighty power to resurrect even the deadest marriage.
Know that your Jesus Christ as Shepherd of your life will never leave you nor forsake you. In fact, He will leave the ninety- nine to go after the lost sheep.
"Then Jesus told them this parable: "Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, 'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.' I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent." Luke 15:3-7
What a powerful scripture! Believe that Jesus, the Shepherd is going after your lost spouse this weekend. He is calling their name every day. He is saying, "No, Don't go that way! Stop! Turn around!" The Lord needs us to continue to pray, stand in the gap and fervently pray for your spouse and all lost prodigals who have fallen into the trap of sin. Jesus Christ is the only one who can set them free from the bondages of sin and deception! Never stop praying for and giving up on your spouse or loved ones, regardless of the time. (Remember Luke 18:1-8? Read it again.) What is time, when your spouse or loved ones are headed to Hell?
"But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the LORD a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The LORD is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:8-9
This Sunday may you and I pray for ALL prodigals to have their hearts touched turning from their sinful lifestyles, their behaviors and to our Lord Jesus Christ for their salvations. Pray the Holy Spirit will speak loudly in their ears to cause your spouses, sons, daughters, all your loved ones, neighbors, friends, co-workers, and friends to repent and turn from their wrongful ways. May they call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I am confident that the Lord is knocking on many heart's doors this very weekend. The enemy deceives people to procrastinate and not be obedient to the Lord's voice. Are you praying for all prodigals to surrender their lives to their Lord today, confessing, repenting and turning 180 degrees from the lifestyle they are living in now? Many are repeatedly saying, "I will, but not now, just a little longer," or "I will change--later." The Holy Spirit is convicting ALL sinners to confess their sins, repenting now, not later, from their selfish sinful ways wanting them to turn their lives over to the Lord Jesus Christ.
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep." John 10:10-11
This weekend pray for the men of God around the world who will preach the Word and pray for all marriages. Be sure to pray that all men of God will have a burden to pray for all sinners and prodigals to repent and turn their hearts to back home or for the first time to Jesus Christ, their Savior and Lord.
Do you believe in miracles? Believe every day that your Lord wants your spouse to be saved. He died on the cross for everyone's sins! Every week pray scriptures with your spouses's name and other loved one's name in them, asking the Lord to touch and change their hardened heart for them to repent, turning their hearts to Jesus Christ for their salvations. Start praying one scripture a day. Let the Lord show you the results.
This Sunday let us praise and thank our Lord Jesus Christ that He is working in your husband's or wife's heart and life and in all prodigals around the world, that they will be saved quickly! The Lord knows your deepest needs and desires.
"Lord, please bring all your lost children home today in the name of Jesus. We are all praying in agreement for a mighty harvest this Lord's day. Amen."
Have a blessed Lord's Day,
Charlyne Steinkamp

"My husband decided he was not happy and left me. I was devastated, and in the process of getting counseling, I learned a lot about myself. More importantly, I learned to trust God and stop trying to manipulate the situation. Three weeks ago, I finally totally turned this over to God. I began to love unconditionally, not listening to advice of others. (Husband) told me he might want to come home. Two days ago he told me he would probably come home soon. Yesterday he told me the stronghold was broken and his feelings had changed. He will be home on Saturday. From this day forward, I vow to be the wife God created me to be, and I thank God and Praise Him for His mighty work. I also thank God for this ministry. Many days I was ready to give up, but Charlyne Cares shined light in the dark places. I look forward to a time of total restoration and healing in my marriage." (Florida)
"I give thanks to the Lord. My husband's attitude toward our marriage changed. He returned home a month ago and we have been very happy enjoying every minute of it. He is doing his best to make everything right again. I know I must continue looking to the Lord for help. The battle is not our, but the Lord's. God answers prayer." (Florida)
